Organization-mediated participation

Pen Pal Tree does not create public resident profiles or child accounts. Children participate through a responsible adult, family, school or organization.

Volunteer screening

Pen Pal Tree helps people discover and contact one another. It does not represent that a volunteer has passed a background check. Each receiving organization is responsible for its own visitor, volunteer, screening, orientation and approval requirements.

Privacy

Do not post unnecessary medical, financial, residential or identifying information about an older adult. Facility/business addresses may be displayed when the organization chooses that setting; personal residential addresses are handled more restrictively.

Food and drink

Always ask before giving an older adult food or drink. Dietary and swallowing restrictions may not be visible. Follow the community or caregiver's instructions.

Report a concern

If something on Pen Pal Tree appears unsafe, misleading or inappropriate, use Contact Us and select Safety Concern. Moderation tools are being expanded for launch.
